manoj & jyothi chalam

This workshop will be a combination of philosophy and experiential spiritual practices. Topics discussed will be Archetypes of Hindu/Buddhist deities, Vedanta Philosophy, Mantra and Kirtan chantings, Mythology, Meditation and Satsang. Spiritual asana practice may incorporated as need be during the workshop.

Using statues to illustrate, Manoj will relate the symbolism of Hindu and Buddhist deities to the archetypes within us. Through mythology, we will uncover hidden symbolisms and learn the four ways to work with them as part of a spiritual practice. Discover how knowing and working with your archetypes can profoundly shift you, especially during moments of life transitions, and how these ancient teachings have practical relevance to your life, bringing peace of mind and uncovering our underlying common spirit.
Jyothi will illuminate the practices and knowledge of Vedanta that lead to great peace of mind and prepares you for the goal of analyzing and realizing the Self, or ultimate freedom. When learnt and properly assimilated, this knowledge has the power to make you immortal.

Manoj Chalam uses humor and personal anecdotes in his lectures and workshops to illuminate Hindu mythology. An Indian-born scientist with a PhD from Cornell University, Manoj helps individuals find their archetypes in Hindu Yogic deities and teaches the 4 ways to work with an archetype as a Vedantic practice. He has also compiled a book on the symbolisms of Hindu and Buddhist deities. Manoj presents workshops on Hindu symbolisms and Tantra at yoga studios, keynotes at festivals, ashrams, and universities.
Jyothi Chalam is a scholar of Vedanta, the philosophy of self realization. Jyothi teaches workshops on the Upanishads at ashrams, yoga studios and yoga conferences. Jyothi is also an accomplished musician of the South Indian Classical tradition. Her music is the culmination of both her philosophical meditations and deep spiritual devotion.
Manoj and Jyothi offer these workshops as their Seva or selfless service. All proceeds go to our scholarship funds for our Teacher Training programs.
