Chaturanga Lab ::: Foundation & Flight With Meghan Ruiz
If you’ve been to a yoga class then you’ve probably heard of, seen and even tried a chaturanga. But what is your understanding of this pose? Chaturangas are the foundation for many asanas, including arm balances and inversions. When a practitioner understands proper alignment in a chaturanga, they can feel confident exploring more challenging poses safely.
In this playshop we will thoroughly explore the anatomy of a chaturanga by deconstructing the pose and then building a deep understanding from the ground up. We will look at how to activate and engage the entire shoulder girdle and the common mistakes that can lead to shoulder irritation and even injury.
We will then apply this knowledge to a variety of fun arm balances and inversions.
If you’ve ever wondered if you’re doing it right or you are wanting to improve upon your understanding this is perfect playshop for you. Come with a sense of curiosity and the willingness to explore.
